130 Ton Rooftop Unit Replacement
Location: Marietta, GA
Project Description
Replacement of a 130 ton rooftop unit.
Our Role
The building where we replaced this unit is a very large, multiple tenant facility with quite a few requirements that made replacing a rooftop unit very tricky. The owners have been planning to replace an aging 130 ton rooftop unit since late 2010. CSUSA was awarded the job in August and promptly ordered a new unit from a different manufacturer at the customer’s request. The tricky part about changing manufacturers is that the new unit was three feet longer and two feet wider. The duct work didn't line up either. CSUSA had to add new steel support to the existing structure to ensure that we accommodated the difference in size and lifted the unit enough to build new duct work transitions. The location of the unit on the large building also required a 550 ton crane. Due to the tenant's schedule, the only time CSUSA could perform the installation with as little disruption as possible was during the week before Christmas and we needed to get it running before January 1st. I am proud to report that despite a week filled with heavy rain, our team was able to successfully complete the replacement and meet the customer’s schedule. Thanks to everyone involved in making this another successful installation.
