Batchelors Mechanical is proud to partner with the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico and the City of Mobile to install the HVAC and plumbing in the new GulfQuest Museum. The museum is slated to open in late 2012.
The museum, which will be formally known as GulfQuest will be part of a 12 acre development featuring a cruise ship terminal, convention center, amphitheater, and other amenities. The actual museum will be a 90,000 square foot facility shaped like a ship and pointed as if it is headed out to sea. It will be only the third maritime museum in the world. Batchelors and Comfort Systems USA Southeast are proud to be involved in such a prominent piece of Mobile’s landscape.
The actual museum will be located in the container ship’s stern. Between its massive size, the water surrounding the hull, and the fact that visitors will actually be able to hear the “engines” humming, the ship will actually be a very realistic vessel. In addition to the museum, the building will house a ferry terminal linking downtown Mobile to other locations.
