Thomas Hospital Tower Addition
The Thomas Hospital Tower addition in Fairhope, Alabama is a 130,500 square foot patient tower with a new emergency department and medical/ surgical nursing units. Batchelors Mechanical is proud to have been a part of its construction.
The tower is four stories and is designed to accommodate 64 beds with space for an additional 32 if needed. The first floor is an all new 35,000 square foot emergency department with four trauma rooms and 28 exam and treatment rooms. It is designed to see 40,000 patients a year.
The second and third floors are medical/ surgical nursing units designed on a central nursing spine to allow for greater efficiency. The fourth floor is still available for expansion.
A rooftop penthouse houses air handlers and other mechanical equipment. The central energy plant also received upgrades including a new chiller, cooling tower, 1500kva generator, and a 10,000 gallon fuel tank.
